David Kelley will show why benevolence is an important element in the Objectivist morality of rational self-interest, based on his book Unrugged Individualism: The Selfish Basis of Benevolence. He will discuss the role of civility and generosity, and their importance in getting the most out of our lives in society. He will also explain how genuine benevolence is different from and incompatible with altruism.
