Ambicognizance - How Design Thinking Will Bring Down the State
What is the foremost quality of the mind shared by libertarians, Objectivists, and anarchists? If you answered rationality this presentation will challenge your preconceived notions of cognition and hopefully open you to an alternative and woefully absent methodology for disseminating ideas both within and outside the liberty movement.

That methodology is design thinking. Not limited to architects and engineers, design thinking is the only way to achieve bipartisanship in the one place where it really matters -- our minds. Ultimately, it’s the most powerful weapon we have to bring down the State.

I am THE WORST at keeping myself accountable, especially when it comes to writing consistently! Bring your laptop and join fellow FSP journalists supporting each other in our resolve to actually get some work done! Writers, illustrators, photographers, bloggers, vloggers, etc. of all skill levels are encouraged to join. (Not any of these things but want to be? COME.)

You're welcome to work on anything you wish, of course, and we'll also spend some time picking important topics/prompts we could all be focusing on to increase our visibility, sharing tips & best practices, etc. I'll also be sharing some rather novel ideas and steps I'm taking to see that our writing will have a MUCH larger audience and impact going forward... simply by planning and meeting together once a month or so! (In person or digitally!)

The Doers Series -- these three events are for people who like getting shit done! My HUGE promise to you: ALL skill sets and skill levels are welcome. I GUARANTEE you've got a strength that we would all benefit from having with us and I will personally help you find it! I only ask that you come prepared to work! Brainstorming and content creation are our goals here. Get a LOT out of a little bit of time kinda thing... ya dig?

Civil Disobedience and the Escalation of Force
A unique look at activism in Texas from a voluntaryist philosophy following the NAP. Follow the story of a group from inception to present day as they attempt to assert unalienable rights to bear arms and stand against unjust laws in a state desperately clinging to racist 140-year-old Jim Crow laws. The next evolution in protesting has new guidelines that mitigate harsh responses by police. Come hear how they have used these tactics in the real world and remain on the frontline. Join us for a glimpse into their journey.

Doers: Social Media Think Tank
Like all those clever memes and relevant links that pop up on the Free State Project social media accounts? As with most things FSP-related, those are created by a small group of volunteers. To better maximize the reach of our messages, I'd like to begin brainstorming both timely and evergreen social media posts that we can start scheduling immediately to help TRIGGER THE MOVE ASAP! It is my hope that we can become more effective users of our media channels by lining up a decent number of posts in advance, allowing us to better respond to spontaneous opportunities "in-the-moment".

We will be creating images & writing copy for potential social media campaigns, discussing possible posts for the FSP blog and other novel ways to help spread the message of liberty digitally! Let's get those last signers on-board sooner! All skill levels are welcome -- even if you don't know the first thing about social media or image editing... bring your ideas! Plenty of folks who are great at image editing aren't necessarily overflowing with ideas... so let's work together! (And if you're great at both skills, then DEFINITELY join us! Please!)

The Doers Series -- these three events are for people who like getting shit done! My HUGE promise to you: ALL skill sets and skill levels are welcome. I GUARANTEE you've got a strength that we would all benefit from having with us and I will personally help you find it! I only ask that you come prepared to work! Taking Back Local Politics
Corruption doesn't 'trickle down' from the federal level. It starts at the local level and works its way up. The only way to change it at the federal level is to first change it at the local level. You may think you're only one small voice but there are ways you can make your voice grow and help get rid of corruption in your city or town - school boards, town councils, city planning. It doesn't matter. You can fight multi-million dollar corporations, corrupt politicians and anyone else who needs to be removed from the equation in order to give the people their government back.In this presentation, Kimberly will show you examples of fighting the good fight in New Hampshire and how you can also get it done even if you think you're just one.

Doers: Recording FSP History
An incredible resource was created for us to record the Free State Project's history. It is a "wiki" style site called FreeStateChronicles.org... but without our help and input, it will remain sparse and nearly empty. We need to catalog what we've accomplished and encountered, and this is an excellent, decentralized way to assemble it! Besides not wanting to forget our history, having a written catalog of it gives better transparency and visibility as to what we stand for, and can give potential signers (and in-state neighbors) a clearer view as to what we do and what we've done. We will lay out a basic outline of important events and begin filling out a skeletal framework that we—and other volunteers—can continue to build on over time... but let's get this thing kickstarted into gear NOW! Whether you're a new mover or longtime Porc... we can use your help here!

The Doers Series -- these three events are for people who like getting shit done! My HUGE promise to you: ALL skill sets and skill levels are welcome. Police Integrity Lost: Police Crime in the United States
Each year approximately 800 police officers are arrested for various crimes across the United States.  Phil Stinson, a professor at Bowling Green State University, is the principal investigator of a research project funded by the National Institute of Justice studying the criminal arrests of nonfederal sworn law enforcement officers.  In his presentation at Porcfest, Dr. Stinson will report the findings of his study of police crime arrests during the years 2005-2011. During those seven years, there were 6,724 arrest cases involving 5,545 officers who were employed by 2,529 state and local law enforcement agencies located in 1,205 counties and independent cities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
